Meow their mission is simple: to make music that inspires involuntary and uncontrollable head banging and ass shaking. Ian Sides, Miles Hubbard, Michael Knapp have been active as Mind Vice in Seattle since 2011. Vocalist Walter O’Toole joined in June, 2012.
2015 was nothing short of "pretty damn neat," according to our confidential source. They dropped a single "Consumer Nation" in February 2015, produced by Matt Bayles (Mastodon, The Sword, He Whose Ox is Gored). Then came their first ever music video, which was completely crowd funded via kickastarter. Notable shows included a Friday headlining slot at the High Dive, SU's Quadstock, Seattle Rock N Roll Marathon, West Seattle Rock Party, and Seattle Hempfest.
Before that, 2012’s LP Pale Males, 2013’s Single Thunder, and 2013’s EP Set This Thing In Motion, were all produced by Conrad Uno (The Presidents of the United States of America, Mudhoney, The Posies). The band strives to create a unique fusion of musical styles that they’ve dubbed “sludge-funk”...but at its heart, Mind Vice is a rock ‘n roll band.
Hit them up to book shows, get your hands on some sweet-ass merch (NOT sweet ass-merch), or just to say meow.
