Lai-Si as well as her music can be described in one word…Fusion. Her unique mixture of cultures and her see the world gypsy spirit has shaped her sound. Golden age Jazz vocals with a Soulful Blues feel over Funky,Folksy,R&B,Soul with Cuban undertones, would best describe her Solo Album Two Worlds One Sound. An homage to her Cuban roots and her Miami upbringing.
She traveled to Havana..A city forbidden, full of mystery that held the story of her origins. She went with a dream of discovering her past and uncovering her future by recording Two Worlds One Sound at Abdala Studios with some of the most talented musicians the city had to offer. Two worlds collided and even though the lyrics were in English she became the first Cuban-American to be played on the radio in Havana. On her last trip she was fortunate enough to witness the infamous Juanes, Paz Sin Fronteras Concert (Peace without Borders).
Raices de Esperanza (Roots of Hope) are making a Documentary about the Epic Concert and Lai-Si's music from both her solo album Two Worlds One Sound and the album she recorded with The Cornerstoners (self-titled ep), are featured in it.
Miami was her stomping ground as a member of The Cornerstoners (Conscious Hip Hop Fusion Band) for 2 and a half years.Always on the move Lai-Si has toured Europe, Colombia, Cuba and the southeast coast across the I-10 to LA where she resides, for now.Her next stop Asia.. a journey exploring her Asian roots.
Lai-Si is Re-releasing Two Worlds One Sound and adding songs that she recorded on her tour in France as well as live performances and collaborations with artists/friends from around the world.
Lai-Si has been able to produce 2 Albums and 4 Tours as an Independent Artist under her own company LaiLok Productions.
Free spirited, vivacious with a sense of adventure she is always on the go, chasing horizons without compromising herself or her art. Her goal is human connection at a soul level through art…spreading a message of unity and love.
