Tom Pletzke is in our opinion one of Detroit's finest saxophonists. His tone is smooth and compelling, edgy and when applied to performances has the splash this band requires. Tom has been a student of the saxophone since the late 70's. He studied under John Littlejohn in Ann Arbor and by age 17 he began performing with Little Joe and the Polka Playboys. Later Tom joined the Motown rock group Guy and the Delrocks. In 2006, he became a member of a well-established group The Lost City Band. Tom honed his performance style with LCB playing many styles from Folk to Blues, Country to Rock as well as many originals over their time together. Currently, Tom performs regularly with The Lost City Band and now finds himself the go to sax man in the tribute band industry performing with Live Bullet Detroit and In The Flesh (Pink Floyd Tribute). When time permits Tom is a regular at many hot local jam sessions where he's performed with Detroit's legendary musicians Bobby Murray and Billy Davis. Tom Pletzke's primary influences and inspirations are Boots Randolph, Grover Washington Jr., Phil Woods, Sonny Rollins, Kenny G, Junior Walker and Silver Bullet Band's Alto Reed.
