Headswell began as a recording project in 2009. Though not officially named then, the groundwork for the direction of the band had been laid. With each member coming into the fold, the music took on a more defined sound, as goals and aspirations were quickly founded. Headswell features front man Erik Yager on lead vocals and guitar, Arvid Matz on bass.
2010 marked the release of their 1st EP, “Time.” This was followed up in late 2012 by the release of their second EP, “Groundwork.” Receiving attention from several local and national industry professionals, Headswell was able to become further engrossed in their efforts to achieve success. A highlight from this period was being made official members of the Gibson guitars family of musical brands. However, only after a brief touring stint with Saving Abel and Art of Dying in the summer of 2013, did it became clear to Headswell that they needed to go and record their debut full length CD.
“Far From Known,” was recorded over the fall of 2013 and winter of 2014. It features songs from the band’s recent history. Many of their staple songs from past concerts were re-worked in studio to better reflect where the band is headed. With this release, it marks the band’s largest attempt at displaying their sense of music to an ever growing audience.
