Pianist and composer Arnold Bruveris' career has traveled various musical genres, and through it all, his own unique, musical voice evolved into an intimate, yet powerful one.
His parents saw something early on with some spontaneous compositions. He started classical piano lessons at five years of age, in Saskatchewan, Canada. Though he vehemently disliked it at the time, the training with the Royal Conservatory of Toronto turned out to be foundationally invaluable. Even though he dropped the study for a time, when the Beatles arrived on the scene, the classical studies had in fact, paved the way for my more formal training. It was while studying advanced jazz composition at Wayne State University, Detroit, M.I., with Matt Michaels, that a love for classical music returned.
