“EKR.NET RADIO Peter Surcombe's legendary Blues Rock Show Blues Rock — The story of 2014 (so far) Hi there, Blues Rock fans. We are only five months into 2014, but it’s certainly proving already to be another great year for blues and blues rock music. Some superb albums have headed EKR’s way, and I’ve had loads of fun dipping into them to select tracks for the Blues Rock Show. Here’s a roll call of the artists featured in this edition: Laurence Jones, Dave Mason, Four Barrel, Robben Ford, Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassa, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Tinsley Ellis, Cantropus Blues Band, David Grissom, Cody Jasper, Mark Wein, Coen Wolters Band, The Bluesbenders, Jack Bruce, Kamchatka, The Proof, Joe Louis Walker, Marcus Malone, The Hold Steady, Keb’Mo’, Eric Church, ARay Maddy, Troubadour Kings, Jeff Beck, Howlin’ Rain, and Tommy Castro and the Painkillers.”
“My “Peter’s Pick” stand out track in Volume 67 is Tried and Convicted, off ARay Maddy’s magnificent 2014 album ARay. ARay was born in Dayton Ohio and is now based in Baltimore. His music is described as a down and dirty mix of original blues with a solid twist of modern guitar work. Just the way I like it! Best wishes. Peter Surcombe”

“Toni's song is beautiful, heart wrenching and eye opening! Great emotion was put into the written words and from your thoughts to your finger tips, almost divine in nature the duality of this song puts things into focus. May she know your thoughts and feelings as she lay and hear your chords progress into another realm of thought, feeling, love and caring embrace. Wonderful song Father this will be one to remember ALWAYS!”
“Thanks to the hole band from Jeanette Cline, Tonya Ward and all of us here at Tilley Harley-Davidson for Saturday night. We appreciate you guys so much and as always you rocked. Love hearing you guys sing. You have a great show and we all were glad to be apart of it. Thanks again hope to see you guys book lots more shows.”
"this message is from LB 10:46am He should totally be on That Metal Show as a guest guitarist. He reminds me of Paul Gilbert. (I know some people like certain artists and some don't bUt this IS a compliment I assure you). Tell him I said it was bad ass ! *LB Awesome! I just heard something in ARay's playing that made me think of Paul! from *LB *LB is an accomplished musician in a prominent pro band that is WORLDWIDE and also a Grand Ol' Opry artist, but I do not want to shake his confidence in me by stating his name here without his direct permission. But I (ARay) am darn excited to hear this from such an artist to my facebook private msg from LB!!!
“ARay's website and new mobile app are located at http://aray.binhoster.com along with the latest music and news.”

“First band up was Hair Nation, a cover band based out of Charlotte. These guys were pretty good, and had us singing along with classics such as “18 and Life”, “Sweet Child o’Mine”, and one of the best covers of “The Flame” that I’ve ever heard, even though I don’t consider Cheap Trick to be metal. They ran through a set that lasted roughly an hour or so. Of course, it’s not a Winger show without some sort of equipment failure. We learned later, via Hair Nation’s Facebook page, that Kip Winger had an issue with his bass. I know something of Charlotte and the area, but be darned if I could tell you where a guitar parts supply store would be open, especially one at almost 10 PM! The guitarist for Hair Nation – who apparently builds or modifies his own guitars – broke down one of his guitars to give to Winger’s guitar tech to repair the bass. Good going to Hair Nation, and to Aray, the guitarist!”

“The opening act was Hair Nation. They have opened for a lot of heavy metal acts around Charlotte. This time there was a new guitar player who happened to play a Hamer Californian Elite for a few songs. He pulled it out for the first time when they played Cheap Trick's The Flame. They played an hour. Winger came on stage at 10:32 and played until midnight. The hairspray and ripped jeans are long gone. The voice and talent are still there. Winger played like they were all having fun, not just "putting on a show." ”
