The name ‘Cohesia’ derives from the word cohesive, which means uniting or joining together. That’s exactly what this event is all about. Cohesia was thought up to be a common grounds for artists and musicians to network and showcase their latest projects. This event is an effort by the Pittsburgh Art House to bring art and music back into the community of the Highland Park / East Liberty area. Cohesia will consist of all forms of art including, but not limited to, photography, painting, graphic design, music, jewelry, fashion, dance, sculpture, glasswork, pottery, etc. The entire day will be filmed in an effort to put together a Pittsburgh art portfolio. The portfolio is going to be posted online as ‘The Cohesia Concept’ and will display the work of everyone involved. Cohesia will start off as an art exhibit from 3:00-6:30 pm. During this time, all of the clothing vendors are encouraged to have a table set up with merch for sale. The DJ’s will kick off the music, while we begin grilling food and serving drinks (alcoholic & non-alcoholic). We are currently awaiting the permit to block off the side street (Beatty Street) to host a skate demo with local skateboarders during this portion of the day. As the evening progresses, there will be a number of live performances by local musicians starting at 6:30 pm, door prizes, raffles, donations for art charities, live paintings, and many more art related activities. The night will end with an after party beginning at midnight at the Pittsburgh Art House.
