“He made multiple trips here first and got a complete "lay of the land." Then he applied what he had learned and people he met every day. He got a job immediately and worked very well at it, advancing at his work position, better tips, better position. That took care of his financial needs for now. He also was out almost every night, performing and meeting other people. Within months he was a feature on every writers night he played on. From there he met a ton of people who were attracted to him by his energy, enthusasim and songs. Now he is booking major shows (a showcase coming up next week at 12th and Porter) has his own CD out, (featuring writers like Matt Casey) and is building a huge fan base. And he never expects anything. He is humble, focused and just keeps moving forward. He positively impacts everyone he comes into contact with. That is all him. Not me. So while yes, I take credit for pointing him in the right direction he did the rest.”
