“The biggest compliment Miles Davis ever offered a contemporary was to call him a motherfucker. By Miles Davis' standards, Al Holbrook is a real motherfucker. Dirt Road is simply a phenomenal album. It is full of rich soul. It is sometimes jazzy, sometimes very bluesy, sometimes heavy rock and roll, yet always true to form for this powerhouse live band.
