(RAS) Riders Against the Storm is a musical movement in Austin, TX that can only be described as 'historic.' In 2014, husband and wife duo Chaka and Qi Dada made history, becoming the first hip hop artists to received 'Band of the Year' honors in the 32-year history of the Austin Music Awards, and in 2015, joined a select few, winning the title back-to-back. A year ago, with societal tensions and cultural conflict running high, Riders Against the Storm made a cosnsious decision to publicly celebrate 'healing and the wonders of receiving.' RAS DAY is the rare event for the whole family and the whole city -- a rejuvenating community-wide retreat, live from the festival capital of the world. The second annual celebration will feature a live performance from internationally-renowned hip hop artist, JEAN GRAE. “Now, Lani is a solo artist who is only gaining momentum with recent release of album “First Impressions”. Her solo career start is reminding us of sounds like Billie Holiday, Chrisette Michele and John Legend (not a bad beginning). We can only think of whatgreat things the future holds for this talented, soul-enriched artist. See Lani and more amazing artists at the 3rd Annual Austin Chronicle Cookout on June 27.”
