“TWO rappers will tempt crowds with a taste of their talents after reaching the semi-finals of a live music competition.Double act Major Flava will take to the stage at the Open Mic UK Regional finals on Sunday, October 28, at Sub89 in Reading.Duo Chris Boyce and Steven Pearcy are among the musicians and bands battling it out for a place in the grand finale at the O2 Arena in London, where winners clinch £5,000 towards developing their music plus recording studio time and music development classes.Their music features a versatile blend of hip-hop, RnB, grime, pop and soft rock, playing their tunes through a portable music booth.Steven, 22, from Whitley, said: "We are really excited to represent Reading and for people to hear our music is a privilege. We are in the regional final so we are going to be nervous but when we hear the music we will be fine.The pair formed three years ago and are influenced by both the urban and rock genres, with idols varying from Eminem to Nickelback.”
