Kira Taylor / Press

“Every now and then you come across something that stumps you and makes you sit up and take notice. Well, today I saw this incredible video and I thought, "I have to share this with you all." Kira is only 15 years old and she's suffered probably more than any of us have in a lifetime. She suffers from Cystic Fibrosis and had to leave school because of constant bullying. Here are Kira's own words about her video and the Bad Day Contest. Watch the video and you'll learn more:”

“1. Tell us a little about yourself. Where are you from? How long have you been performing? I am a 15 year old singer, songwriter, performer, cystic fibrosis warrior, free2luv youth advocate, Kindness U activist, and volunteer with the special needs / youth ministry. I live in tampa, fl but I was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina. I have been performing for almost four years. 2. Describe your music. R&B, pop, rock, folk, etc. My two originals songs can be considered as Country/pop and ballad but I want to expand to more fast beat fun type of songs. 3. Who were some of your early influences and who do you admire today? If referring to early music influences I would say Hillary Duff. Miranda Cosgrove, and Victoria Justice. Now I admire Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Bella Thorne, Carrie Underwood, etc”

“YouTube star in the making The place the budding star is showcasing her talents and sharing her message about living with CF is YouTube. She has found a solid audience who loves her collaboration with musician HousePuzzle. They covered two songs and created two videos for Daniel Powter’s “Bad Day” and Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Miles.” While she loves both of the videos, “Bad Day” resonates with her more because it “shows people what it’s like to live with CF.” In the notes section of the video, Kira wrote, “This cover is very sentimental to me in how I look at life because when I was little I was very sad and depressed and worrying about dying at a young age due to having Cystic Fibrosis. The disease has led to a lot of people bullying me over the years, but as I have gotten older I have learned to live in the present and not worry about a couple Bad Days that were in the past.””

“Daniel Powter @dpowtermusic 5h5 hours ago @HousePuzzle @KiraTaylorSings Nice cover of Bad Day with a beautiful message! Keep fighting the good fight! https://www.youtube.com/watch… ….”

“Kira Taylor has partnered up with HousePuzzle to release their music video to Christina Perri’s ‘A Thousand Years’, this collaboration is fantastic with Kira’s singing and HousePuzzle’s keyboard playing being excellent and the music video was excellent when it came to audio and visual quality. It is great to see Kira being able to show people more of what she can do and there is no doubt that there is much more for us to see well into the future.”

“Today’s multi talented 14 year old singing/songwriter, actress and spokesperson, Kira Taylor comes to us with not only exceptional talent but with a story of overcoming strength, courage, passion and perseverance. I was first introduced to Kira’s talent through hearing her cover of “Ready Set Don’t Go” by Billy Ray and Miley Cirus on her Reverb Nation Site. I was not only captivated with her cover but immediately convinced that she was a young lady that I needed to learn more about. What I found after a few letter exchanges with her parents was not only an amazing young lady with an exceptional recording voice, but also a person with compassion, courage, strength and endurance….. a true overcomer in every sense of the word. In fact, her story was so inspiring I wanted to publish it exactly as I received it. I know that you too will be inspired by the positive effect her life has been and continues to be on others as well as enjoy the musical talent she so exuberantly ex”

“Kira was granted a shopping spree wish from Kids Wish Network in 2009. Here’s an update on what she’s doing now! Kira: Ever since my wish was granted, I have been very positive, outgoing and extra helpful. I tell myself everyday that I can achieve my dreams no matter what happens even though I have cystic fibrosis and hydrocephalus. I know now that I will be able to inspire kids and adults in many ways, not just through my music, but also through how I help my community. My favorite part of my wish was that I was able to get my precious dog Sammy a dog stroller and a few toys because he has always been there for me when I am down or don’t feel good, and I still use it a lot. Thank you so much Kids Wish Network for making that day the best and most memorable moment of my life! You really helped me see that there are positive things about life and that no matter, if you have a disease, illness or disability, you can do whatever you set your mind to.”

“Kira Taylor performed at Ricky T’s recently for a benefit and one of the numbers she performed was a cover of Taylor Swift’s ‘Mean’, As expected this is another fine performance from the Lion hearted performer and there is no doubt that her fans will also appreciate her performance, don’t forget readers to support her Indiegogo campaign the campaign needs somebody to step up and contribute even a few dollars to help her record her EP and also support the CF Foundation so please donate to this great cause, readers are also encouraged to view and support her video of Kira dancing to Ariana Grande’s ‘Problem’ for she has been attacked by various keyboard warriors for this dance, dancing helps Kira combat what CF does to her and so her dancing should be accepted and defended.”

“Watch this girl go! She has such a beautiful voice. She has CF and also does alot volunteer of work for CF! I'm very proud to call her whole family my friends. Proud of ya baby girl”

“This is a video of Madelyne, my daughter, dancing to a song called, "Country Girl Things." It's sung by a young lady named Kira Taylor. For those of you who haven't heard of Kira, then you're missing out big time. I met Kira through Facebook. I liked her page and listened to her songs. I love country music and after hearing her sing, I became an instant fan. But there is more to Kira than just singing. ...Oh yeah! There's just one more thing about Kira. She has Cystic Fibrosis. You can see how she is letting that "interfere" with her life. ;)”

“Amazing young emerging artist who is following her dream. Spreading the message of love and anti-bullying. Help her with this HUGE noble task by liking her Facebook page and giving her dream the wings it deserves.”

“Uses some of my music. Megan Taylor, a young girl who was plucked from obscurity at the age of 15 and transformed into the mysterious rock icon MonAmi. At the height of her fame and on the final night of her farewell tour, the singer runs from the career that made her a superstar and back to her hometown where she sorts through the complexity of living a double life that she says “was hardly the best of both worlds.” “This book offers a behind the scenes look at manufactured superstardom and the trappings that come with it from the girl who sold her soul to rock and roll,” Young says. Young says that her novel lends itself well to a multimedia platform in which the main character, though fictional, can use her voice to help promote other musicians. Several musicians have already come aboard and donated singles, CDs and MP3 files to the Fifteen Minutes of Fame campaign including Mike Archer (currently on tour with the Disney Cruise Line) and me”

“This fourteen year old, young woman doesn't let a "little thing" like Cystic Fibrosis keep her down! CF is, of course, far from a "little thing", but Kira Taylor charges ahead, trying to use her music to make our world a better place, and refuses to let anything stop her! Please, vote for her! She not only deserves your vote, but your vote will support her work to stop bullying. Kira, I admire you. May this year be prosperous and joy-filled and may your work be recognized by many. “We suspect you'll be hearing a lot about up-and-coming country artist Kira Kennedy. 13-year old Kira has loved music and dancing since she was three. "I remember always singing songs with my mom, dad, and sisters because my dad has a good voice," Kira says. The fact that Kira can even sing at all is an accomplishment, given that she has Cystic Fibrosis and Hydrocephalus -- both of which can impact breathing, communication and coordination. Despite her health challenges, Kira found herself encouraged to chase her dreams, not only by family, but by a performance on the show "America's Got Talent" -- a pair of sisters who both had Cystic Fibrosis: "I was inspired to not give up. Though I take treatments for my lungs three times a day it has not slowed me down nor my dream. It has actually helped me look forward to my future."”

“Twelve-year-old Kira Taylor has the time to play with her mom, sister and two dogs. That's a remarkable thing considering she was born with Cystic Fibrosis, a condition that affects the lungs, digestive system and sinuses. Kira's schedule would exhaust most healthy people. Her work with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the community has earned her Tampa's "Every Child Makes a Difference" award. President Barack Obama and Florida Governor Rick Scott have even sent her pictures and letters thanking her for her efforts. Kira is also a straight A student and a Girl Scout. Her other favorite groups include Cat Crusaders and Toys for Tots. Kira will also become involved in medical tests that may, one day, lead to a cure of the disease. She says that would be a dream come true, something that makes her smile. "It makes me feel happy because I've wanted a cure for Cystic Fibrosis ever since I knew that I had it," she said.”

“Born with Cystic Fibrosis, Kira began participating in Great Strides, the national walk event of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at age five. Each year, she has increased her role as an ambassador for finding a cure. Kira has presented to numerous companies like Moe's and Chick-Fil-A, working tirelessly on an annual basis to gain their support and raise money on behalf of the CF foundation. Even though Kira has a deadly disease, she is always more worried about other kids that have mental and physical challenges to overcome. Kira offers to give her old clothes, books, toys and food to those who are less fortunate. On top of it, she volunteers with the Cat Crusaders of PetSmart to help save cats and kittens from being put down. She also takes foster cats through her neighborhood trying to find them a home. Kira helps the Healing Horses organization by circling her neighborhood with a homemade flyer collecting donations to benefit the horses.”
