Christopher Laroche, a.k.a. Freedom, was born and raised in Haiti . He started Freedom Recordz in 2003 and has been working tirelessly on production with Konvict Music, Xyion Inc ,Snoop Dogg, Macy Gray, Stacey Dash, Lil Kim, Spragga Benz, Sway from MTV, DJ Muggs of the Soul Assassins and Cypress Hill and many more. Aside from his musical talents, Freedom has also been a strong influence in Haiti. He released inspiring albums in his native Haitian tongue of “Kreyol.” While giving back to the community with his captivating conscious music, he has also been a physical presence in his country, helping people and educating its youth in every way he can. Using the power of Freedom Recordz, to support, educate, and constructively work towards a positive change in Haiti and other third world nations. His contributions to documentaries, independent films, and charities have helped instil a progressive and positive outlook on the future of this impoverished nation.
This Universal Music Group recording artist has graced the stage by performing worldwide with many different artists such as T-Pain, Keri Hilson, FloRida, Akon, Willie Nelson, Pete Rock, CL Smooth, ShineHead, Faith Evans, Lil Kim And Snoop Dogg to name a few. A graduate of Berklee School of Music, Freedom has created a fusion of Hip Hop, R&B, Reggae, Blues, Roots, Haitian Racine and Soul. Freedom’s debut album 1804: Liberation was released in 2004. Through his music, Freedom continues to aid Haiti in their constant struggle, working towards the peace and unity of his nation. He is truly an inspirational artist.
Recently Freedoms new single “Move On” was released and became a huge hit. The single is now available on iTunes and in stores. “Move On” is a compelling heart-felt revelation of encouragement, motivation and vision, written to help spark the hope and endurance for Haiti.
The single will be followed by Freedom’s new documentary “Move On”, which Freedom is currently working on in Toronto. All proceeds will go to the non-profit foundation Save Haiti Today -www.savehaititoday.com - the direct grassroots effort of Freedom to help re-build Haiti.
The upcoming releases are quite exciting for Freedoms near future with his single “ “Like You” featuring Snoop Dogg coming very soon and the “Freedom Music” Mixtape was just released to introduce the upcoming album.
