Andrew Brasfield / Press

“BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- How much does Andrew Brasfield love the harmonica? Well, the license plate on his car says "BLZHRP." John Popper of Blues Traveler is his music hero. The 1994 album "Four," with its iconic harp solos, was an eye-opening inspiration for him as a teenager. "It blew my mind," says Brasfield, 33. "For some reason, the harmonica talked to me." Now he owns about 40 harmonicas, half of which are in good working order. And Brasfield -- a husband, father and library tech assistant at Bevill State Community College -- spends much of his free time playing in blues bands as a sideman. "It's a hobby," the Dora resident says. "Music allows me to indulge my harmonica addiction."
