The 16th Annual Pine LakeFest will be held in Pine Lake, Georgia, on October 1 and 2. LakeFest is two days of art, music, food and family fun on the shores of beautiful Pine Lake. This highly interactive festival showcases handmade art and crafts by 45 local and regional artist vendors, poetry by notable Georgia writers, and live music in a variety of styles. Activities include chalk drawing and sandcastle contests on the beach, a pet parade and pet show, and kids' hands-on crafts and music at the "Sound of Nature Experience." One highlight of the weekend will be FLOATZILLA, a floating parade with wildly decorated watercraft. This year's special guests leading the parade will be Atlanta's favorite street performers, “The Seed and Feed Marching Abominables." The music stage will have a full schedule of bands and performers both days, with headliners "Uncle Don's Band" on Saturday night and "The A.J. Ghent Band" leading a blues safari to close the festival on Sunday night. To add to your festival experience, "conversation coves" are located among the vendors. These cozy spots provide a place to rest, grab a snack, chat with artists or other festival goers, or just relax and enjoy the lake and surrounding wetlands. Picnic by the lake on festival food, locally-sourced gourmet items and home baked goods. LakeFest admission and parking are free: park at the entrance and take a free shuttle. Pine Lake is located 12 miles East of Atlanta, between Decatur and Stone Mountain, off Rockbridge Road, at 4620 Lakeshore Drive, Pine Lake, GA 30072.
