If you want a good choice of seat, please consider arriving early; however, the club has a large bar and lots of room... and even when all seats are filled, there's ample standing room and usually room for dancing. Note to all: Even though the general public can come, the 540 Club is technically a "private" club. This means that they can (and do) allow smoking inside the building. We have to admit that the idea of spending a Saturday evening with four middle-aged guys doesn’t sound appealing at first, but trust us: it’s lots of fun—and no animals are ever harmed in the making of the music (unless they happen to be delicious animals that the band members consume—which come to think of it is actually pretty likely at the Gute). Machs Gute is a great place to eat and drink and party and do all those fun weekend things that your boss frowns upon you doing at the office. They also have a private patio out back that lets you enjoy your food and drinks in the outdoors without the threat of invasions of wolves or mutant door-to-door insurance salesmen. This venue tends to fill up early and folks tend to stay late. Some folks like to arrive very early and have dinner at the Gute, and then stay for the party. This is a good strategy if you want to get good seats. This works much better than the “I’ll trade you my Pokémon card collection for that seat” strategy that worked so well for you back in middle school.
