“Born Tendai Mapondera 19th July 1988 in Africa’s Reggae capital, Harare Rickie grew up around music was part of both his school and church choirs. His biggest musical influence would turn out to be his elder brother Farai who like most Zimbabwean youths was a big dancehall fan. Farai’s music collection would later become the foundation for young Rickie who would perform songs by artistes that included Shabba Ranks, Buju, Beenieman, Sizzla and Capleton among others to pefect his art. Under the name Flickoman, Rickie penned his first song “Blessings From Above” when he was in Form 3 and it became an athem at his high school. This gave him the drive to continue composing though he only started recording in 2007 when he linked up with producer Mr Simz from Faith In Action Studio and they released his debut “Step Out”.The single created mad hype for the young performer with many convinced that he was Jamaican.Then came ”
