Growing up in Newport, Rhode Island Zera was inspired by local bands like Throwing Muses and Belly. After moving to Seattle in 1997 Zera formed the dark and dirty pop band, Tagging Satellites, with Graig Markel. "Birds And Bullets Fly" is Zera's first solo release. These songs, recorded by Graig Markel, find Zera moving away from dark, dirty pop and moving toward the down-home comfort of songs that shade country in to night.
