In an age in which most rock bands take themselves so seriously that they’re afraid to crack a smile and “Rock Fashion Vampires” seems to rule the musical landscape, ZänKoma can be considered uncompromising rock’n’roll hooligans. Influenced by such bands as The MC5, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Sex Pistols & The Rolling Stones, these 4 rock’n’roll soulmates, who look like they could have been Deep Purple roadies, if they’d been born decades earlier manage to seamlessly echo classic rock, hard rock and punk in as much of a timely as a timeless manner without ever slavishly imitating and insulting their influences. With their well-composed songs they manage to keep their musical attack unpredictable yet on the street level.
Their love for playing in little, noisy bars in the greater LA area, where their only desire will be that the audience either cheer or throw something at them, doesn’t keep them from regularly appearing in Hollywood’s biggest clubs and playing with such bands as Brian Howe’s Bad Company (Texas/ direct support), L.A Guns (Whisky a Go Go/ direct support), The Bullet Boys, Steven Pearcy of Ratt (Knitting Factory/ direct support), Lynch Mob (Key Club/ direct support) and headlining The Viper Room. Since the bands beginnings in early 2008, the boys distributed over 3000 CDs at their live shows and for each new song they write and each show they perform, their crowd of friends grow along with their notoriety.
