About

Lipon Islam, alias Young Prodigy, was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia at Grady Memorial Hospital. Coming from a Bangladeshi decent, because both of his parents were born and raised in Bangladesh, a third world country. Lipon grew up with his bengali culture along with his family in the U.S, although he would vastly engage in the American culture due to the extraneous amount of exposure on television, media, friends, and at school, but he would never put aside his bengali culture. Growing up in the city and capital of Georgia, Atlanta, which is a city that greatly revolves around the music industry and music. Around the 5th and 6th grade, Lipon started out listening to the rock genre, but as he moved on to the 7th grade, he got into the Rap/Hip-Hop genre, which he gradually fell in love with after hearing many artists and many songs. Rappers/Emcee's that he would listen to during that time were 50 Cent, JaRule, Nas, & Eminem. Later on, he started listening to the R&B Genre, which is quite popular in the ATL. He would listen to Usher, Alicia Keys, Ciara, Bobby Valentino, and many more. As Lipon entered Highschool, he continued to engage in what he loved the most, music. His favorite rapper/emcee of all time, was none other than Juelz Santana.
"Juelz Santana got it all. Swag/Style, Flow, Punchlines, Lyrics, and hit songs! He's the illest in my opinion, and I've got every single track that he ever did, from when he started rapping til what he has out now. He's sick!" - Young Prodigy
During the 10th grade, late 2007, Lipon started writing rhymes in class, pages and pages of verses, choruses, etc. Due to haters, because the fact that he's bengali & brown, he was never inspired to get on the microphone, therefore he stuck to writing. Then later on in late 2007, he discovered that there are many bengali rappers out, both in the U.S and Bangladesh.
He officially got on the microphone during late 2007, making tracks here and there at his home, with a cheap dynamic microphone. Later on, he upgraded his equipment and now records with a condenser mic, so he's got a little home-studio thing going on. Record, Writing, and simply being a Recording Artist has become his hobby aswell as his part-time job.
"It's not that I didn't want to become a recording artist. It's the fact that I thought I would be the only bengali that's doingit, therefore I didn't want haterz. So then later I discovered so many bengali artists, which is one of the main inspirations for me to actually get myself started in this whole thing. Besides that, I stuck to writing. Music runs in my veins, my arteries, my heart, my whole body! I live, breathe, and die music. I did a few home-studio tracks here and there, nothing serious, and I barely had time to practice due to me having a very hectic schedule in my life, such as school, my family, and personal matters. But now, music has become my part time job, and I am 100% serious about it. What can I say, I love music. My goal is pretty much to get myself into the Bangladesh mainstream industry, along with my group that I've created, Epic Pulse, and basically aim for the top. I'm not really serious about the U.S, but if I am ever to get offered and whatnot, must believe that I will take it! My main focus is basically to represent my culture, but don't get me wrong, I'm actually a mixed artist. I rap in both English and Bengali, but one of my main goals is to get well-known and recognized by my kind, my own people. Hopefully one day all that comes true, ;]" - Young Prodigy
