Young Alive / Press

“Young Alive are a five-piece from Boston that you not only need to add to your music library, but who you desperately need to keep an eye on….because it’s only a matter of time before they blow up. We filled you guys in on Young Alive when we had a chat with them about their roots and the making of their new EP, American Gentlemen. Their EP is one we definitely think you need to check out, and even though they are new to the scene, we think their sound is going to make a big impact in 2013. Young Alive’s American Gentlemen EP is well-balanced with two faster paced tracks, and two that feature acoustics and are stripped down. The band is very good at writing deep and haunting lyrics that paint images for the listener, and we see a bright future for these guys. If you want to pick up the EP for yourself, make sure you head to their Bandcamp. They’ve already begun writing for a new release, so stay tuned for more from these guys in the near future.”

“My favorite dudes in Young Alive, dropped their new EP, American Gentleman, today. Go get your hands on a copy on their bandcamp page today. It's epic, and totally worth it. I've heard a few of the tunes before (actually all but 1) and everything is fantastic. These guys have a great hold on alternative rock, though I do have to admit the re-done version (almost acoustic) of "The Weight of a Hummingbird" is my favorite. It's beautiful and intoxicating. I've said it before, but it's haunting. And I love that about it. The rest of the tracks don't fail though. "Kingdom Come" starts off strong and keeps that energy throughout the track, same with the title track "American Gentleman". I believe I'm echoing myself again, but I don't mind repeating it: Young Alive is bringing talent back to the alternative rock genre.”

“Boston based rockers Young Alive, embody everything their name implies. Just a few years out of college at most, Young Alive has made a firm statement in the Boston music scene. Coming together at the beginning of 2012 the five-piece act made it a point to make the most out of the year. Born out of the thriving in unique Boston music scene, Young Alive has created something completely unique and passionate. The American Gentlemen EP is just the next step in their journey, a precursor to a lengthy and inspiring music career. The American Gentlemen EP exemplifies the bands unique and nearly impossible to define sound. A truly beautiful collection of songs, The American Gentlemen EP is worthy of your attention.”

“The weekend is finally here, and what better way to kick things off than by discovering the next band that might change your life? Rising Boston rock act Young Alive have chosen this very day, November 30, to release their American Gentlemen EP. The release features four brand new tracks, each with creative alternative flares and emotive twists that are sure to keep listeners coming back for more. I know we ramble on about the sounds coming from New England right now, but Young Alive are further proof that there is still much to be discovered in the Northeast. American Gentlemen has been on repeat this morning in our offices, and we could not be more excited to host the online premiere. You can stream American Gentlemen after the jump. Young Alive are currently booking shows locally and abroad. Check their Facebook to learn when they’ll be in your area next!”
