Q: I want to follow in your foot steps. Can you help me get there? Where did you begin and How did you figure out what you wanted to do?
A: First, I'm humbled & honored and I would like to say I appreciate U. I began with a guitar, learning by ear all the top 40 songs on the radio. (Then just practicing 4 to 8 hours a day) As you re-interpret other people’s music you will naturally develop your own style (I did this with the Bass Guitar, The Piano, and the Drums, though I learned the Trumpet the correct way in Junior High School). Recording, Engineering & Mixing has to be approached as if you're learning to play an instrument as well, because it's basically the same thing, (It's an art to getting the vibe you want to convey onto a digital or analogue format) so you would want to listen to the production elements of your favorite songs for soundscape instead of the entertainment aspect of it. More than anything else if you don't feel it, don't play it, you gotta keep it 100, just play what you naturally feel & dig it yourself (no matter what anybody tell you). I was stuck for a minute because of naysayers & haters til I realized that, that comes with anything one tries to accomplish (Their only there to test your will & your resolve to see if they can break you) Just know that the people really want to hear you, so just be the best you. Hope that helps. One.........
