Yesterday -The Beatles Tribute / Press

“How great was the show Friday night at Brubeck Theatre of Wabash Valley College? If The Beatles were painters, they now would be Old Masters. The music of their masterpiece creation - Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album - now celebrates 45 years. Don Bellezzo was back with Yesterday in Brubeck Auditorium as John Lennon with a musical and stage presence few equal. Frank Mendona portraying Paul McCartney relived the real legend for a packed house at the Performing Arts Center. Austin, Texas, native Monte Mann as George Harrison was stunningly accurate in his portrayal. He has been with Yesterday for over 14 years. Finally, the drums and vocals of Ringo Starr featured Dick Cunico of Colorado Springs who has been a member of Yesterday since 1994. Yesterday performed for a full house at Brubeck in November of 2005, but the band’s critically acclaimed Las Vegas cast gave the music what might have been their best ever show Friday night in Mt. Carmel, Ill. ”

The Beatles define a generation and to have Yesterday recreate their talents on stage will take guests back to a time when a group of Lads from Liverpool were elevated from ordinary to iconic. With 1500 seats and production quality typically found in larger venues, the Beau Rivage Theatre provides the perfect intimate setting to watch these legends come to life”. Ms. Diana Castelion of New Orleans tells us: "I saw Yesterday Beatles Tribute in 2010 in Biloxi on a girls week end with my girlfriends. We danced, sang and had a great time. Yesterday made our entire trip. You can bet we'll be at the Beau Rivage in February! We'll be the girls dancing in the aisle!" ”

"Yesterday Rocks The Trop!"

“.If there's one cure for the winter blues in Las Vegas, it's feel-good music, and the Tropicana delivers just that with "Yesterday", a Beatles tribute. These Liverpool-like musicians play all the hits from the original Beatles. Frank Mendoca as Paul is the most Beatle-like of the bunch, with a the voice needed for those McCartney-like vocals. Don Bellezzo as John has the right profile and a voice to match John Lennon, blending the harmonies. Jimmy Lett especially wields guitar like the George Harrison character he's channeling. They're all good-natured performers who can actually sing, unlike some impersonators in Las Vegas. These Beatles don't get by on cute looks alone. They're talented musicians and performers, and crowds show their appreciation for that talent with lots of applause and unprompted sing-alongs. ”

“Met Yesterday after the show and they are fun to talk with too. Highlights for us : Hey Jude on the piano, ( 'McCartney' is excellent), Walrus and Revolution, ('Lennon' rocks both of these!) and Something, the girls loved this and 'Harrison' is an A+ guitarist, in fact they are all terrific! We are going back in February went we go back to Vegas. ”

“The Tropicana has outdone itself by bringing in this critically acclaimed show that pays homage to one of the greatest bands of all time, The Beatles. A look back at when The Beatles ruled the world, the production focuses on their first and most famous U.S. appearances. A snapshot of a moment in time, the Beatles unforgettable debut on the Ed Sullivan Show, the frenzied concerts at the Hollywood Bowl and record setting Shea Stadium. Yesterday’s Founder Don Bellezzo frequently joins the cast of ‘The British Are Coming!’ performing as “John Lennon” in the fun filled, musically correct production that relives a magical era in musical history. The spot on instruments, unwavering vocals and enthusiasm of the performers can be felt by the sold out audiences that have attended the shows. ”

“Woody Lifton has sent us a great report on this year’s Beatles Tribute Cruise event. “This year's Beatles Tribute Cruise was exciting, exhilarating and a real blast from the past,” he gushed, continuing, “Each of our wonderful guests made a huge impact on our private group of Beatles Tribute Cruisers.”Here is his full report for the John Lennon Examiner: Three concerts were given by house band YESTERDAY, including one poolside show that had the whole ship rockin' to the sounds of the Fab Four. ”

“' It was evident why the four lads have been hailed by critics around for their realistic look and sound. The group, particularly “Paul” and “John” had their heavy English accents down pat and, as the playful Beatles used to, joked and bantered with the audience. The highlight came during the second half when Yesterday came on decked out in colorful “Sgt. Pepper” band outfits and performed songs from the groups latter period. The Symphony and Yesterday shined through out the entire performance, right down to the encores."”
