Born in Manhattan, NY raised in Jamaica, Yendi’s foundation was rooted at age four listening to the sweet sounds of Teddy Pendergrass, legend Bob Marley and the Wailers, Etta James, Michael Jackson, and many more. She attended Edna Manley Performing Arts School in Kingston, Jamaica where she was trained music appreciation, orchestra, acting, dance, and art . Her mother was determined to move her to the U.S. with hopes of her attending Juliard Performing Arts School.
