“My favorite thing about working this mixtape is it really allowed me to dig in the crates and break samples and loop out original beats. (check site for whole write up http://iamdahitman.blogspot.com/2010/08/xel-9ds-mixtape.html) Peep Uzi’s cadence and delivery too – dead on for the Busta Rhymes cadence and I loved that. Between the breaks and all the cuts laid in these tracks there must be somewhere around 50 various samples and breaks in just 14 songs. “No More Trash Can Music” is the only original production piece of this mixtape. This mixtape is a celebration of the Golden Era of Hip-Hop and I love that X.E.L. put so much work into bringing the songs back for a rebirth. My top pick from the mixtape is “Definition of a Monster” because X.E.L. ripped that lyrically. Make sure you listen to the skit at the beginning and end of “No More Trash Can Music” too. Classic.”

“After the storm is calmed, the fifth artist, X.E.L. Ohh, comes with that golden era boom bap jeep music. This is a real music lover, who is not of the "Trash Can" music era. The beats are mixed perfect with a solid delivery, lyrics just flow over with ease, crisp and clear. It wasn't the sound system, just flat out MC'n. If you've never seen him live then check out his music online or his cd's. The transition of studio works to live performances is seldom achieved by many artists, this is not the rapping over your verse type of MC, but if you wasn't in front of him you would think it was on cd. ”

“STILL RAVE REVIEWS FOR X.E.L. 9D's... "I checked out the mix tape and man it was niiiiice. I loved all of those beats from my younger days. The first 3 tracks had a real good groove going. That chick Black Widow is dope. Lyrically I loved the track “Running”. He had a flow that reminded me of Eminem from his “ I’m Sorry Mama” track. Track 10 with the artist Prime Dinero was bangin’The last track about the whack songs was a trip, talking about Peanut butter and jelly and the chicken wing. Man the whole CD was good from beginning to end. Your boy never let the new beat coming in through him off the flow. His delivery made all of the tracks gel. I seriously listened to it 2 times in a row because it didn’t seem that long because I didn’t have to skip through the songs to find good music.”
