Music Bio - skills, instruments played, experience, goals

John Muller … aka “Word Man”, (singer-songwriter-lyricist-guitarist), is once again back on the Athens’ Music Scene, performing live cover and original material with the “ReCover Band”, after a disappearance of several years! John was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His musical influences and interests are and have always been in Soul, Rock, Pop, and Blues. He is currently Executive Producer/A&R of Moiko Records and is actively involved with Moiko's Charity Project, “IT AIN’T ABOUT US”.

John started guitar and vocal lessons at the age of eleven, and began singing and playing guitar in his first Rock band, at the age of fifteen. Shortly after graduating from university, he moved to Greece where he taught at the American Community Schools and began to compose his own music and also jingles for television and radio.

John's first rock group, “The Lyko Band”, performed exclusively for the American embassy and the American military bases that existed in Greece at that time.
His second band, "Flex", was a pop-rock group that performed only their own material. "Flex" signed a record contract with Sirius©, a private record company that was owned and run by Manos Hatzidakis.

In the late 80's John did a lot of studio work, co-writing several unreleased rock songs entitled, "Trapped", "Queen of the Night", "Turn it Around", and "You are the Light". John also sang the title track, "Give Us a Yell", on a promotional album for Rebel Yell Kentucky bourbon and performed with "Yvette and the TNT Band" in a Pan-Hellenic promotional tour for Southern Comfort.

John and the ReCover Band performed at the Athens Olympic Stadium for the “Oriflame Awards”, the Hellenic American University for the “International Diplomats Club” and the Athens Hilton for the “USA Election Watch” on November 4th, 2008
On January 20th, 2009 John performed at the Presidential Inauguration Celebration held by "Democrats Abroad" in Athens, Greece.
Most recently, John performed with ReCover at a Charity Gala for the “Women In Need” organization (W.I.N.), that provides assistance to “Battered Women”.

John, better known as Word Man, has now completed his “LIFE TRACKS” CD which is available on MOIKO RECORDS:  www.moikorecords.net .
