In the beginning, after the breakup of his former band in 2004, it was meant as a solo project of the band founder Didic, who wanted to rather spend some time on his own musical ideas and the home and studio recording. Soon in 2005, as Gabrielle joined for the female vocal parts, a duo emerged from the formerly solo-project. With this, the core membership of Wintermond had joined together, even though at this point nobody could foresee that from this a whole band would evolve later.
