wing and hollow / Press

“I bought this album earlier this week and after listening to it several times here is my two cents. Frozen Trees evokes a rustic feel with its charming sincerity. At times mournful, at times affirming, aesthetic balance remains the constant between Jill's vocals and Haven's guitar. Thematically, the album predominately speaks to the challenges/realities of love and, in this listener's opinion, deftly captures much of its intangibility. Jill's melancholic crooning over Haven's measured play in "Frozen Trees" is spellbinding. What follows after the title track is cohesive in tone and quality. "So It Seems" floats along rapturously. So easy to enjoy. For fewer than eight bucks, this album is a steal.”

“Our good friends Wing and Hollow just got their new album “Frozen Trees” in and it’s pretty rad. Basically it’s just some good cool folk style music. I actually shot their last album cover and am pretty stoked they are still making and recording good sounds. It’s hard for me to describe what they sound like but that’s okay since you can listen to it here before it even comes out on itunes. I don’t normally listen to much folk music but I can say I do like this. “Frozen Trees” is probably the catchiest song but my favorite is “Evil Needs”, Jill’s voice just kills it. I’d suggest getting their actual CD because they are always better but I can’t lie; it’s hard to beat the convenience of itunes. Be sure to check them out on facebook”
