The Whistlestop Combo grew out of a desire to bring the classic swing, big band and pop tunes of the '30s, '40s and '50s to the audiences of today. Begun strictly as a fun way for its members to spend an afternoon playing together, it soon evolved into a performing unit of widening popularity in Central Alabama.

Nice write-up of the 12/04/2011 performance at La Reunion!

Well, if you weren't there, you missed it! Saturday night at La Reunion Coffee Cafe in Helena, the Whistlestop Combo held forth with perhaps their best public performance to date.
Everyone was at their personal best for this appearance. The material was well-rehearsed and all members treated each swinging new tune like an old friend.
