Wehrmacht / Press

“Old-school Portland, Oregon thrash/speed metal band WEHRMACHT will film a video for the song "Impala" this Saturday, July 27 during the group's first hometown headlining show with its new singer Eric Helzer. 2013 has been a very successful year for WEHRMACHT so far. Back in February, the band embarked on a five-show West Coast tour that included a stop in West Hollywood at the Key Club as direct support for SACRED REICH. The concert was filmed and released as the "Wehrmacht Attack Los Angeles!" DVD through L.A. label Depths Of Hell Records. After this coming weekend's hometown show, WEHRMACHT will continue to record new material and search for a new record label. In August, WEHRMACHT will head back East for six shows. As an added bonus, longtime friend Scott Peterson from speedcore legends CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER will join WEHRMACHT for all six shows. At the end of WEHRMACHT's set, Peterson and WEHRMACHT will play a select few CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER classics. ”

“In the mid-'80s when most West Coast metal bands in America were copying either METALLICA or MÖTLEY CRÜE, WEHRMACHT had a different approach which set them apart! By 1986 the band's self-distributed demo cassette and an appearance on the "Speed Metal Hell" compilation series had gained the group considerable acclaim in the metal underground. Music publications such as England's Metal Forces and the Netherlands' Aardschok were among many to praise WEHRMACHT's original sound.”
