VON DER HINTER

Von Der Hinter are a 5-piece progressive metal band from the Northants area who started out life as a Rammstein tribute act, born from the previous line-up's love of the German Industrial metal band. In the latter part of 2005 VDH, line-up then; Adam (vocals), Steve (guitar), Jacob (keys), Gary  (bass) and Adam (Adremelech - drums) performed 3 gigs across various venues playing solely Rammstein material with both Johnny and Lee of Ascendant (Jacob's other band) featuring on separate occassions as guest second guitarist.

At the start of 2006 the band decided that they did not wish to remain a tribute act and looked to pursue a more original direction. At the same time, Steve left the band to focus on his other project and so the band set out to recruit a guitarist whilst working on the new material. In February, current guitarist Heff was enlisted and with frequent practices and a handful of original songs at the ready the band began searching for gigging opportunities. 4 new songs we're debuted at the Oakley Arms in March along with covers of Village of Dwarves - Rhapsody, Carried by the Wind - Ayreon and, wanting to stay faithful to our roots, 2 'Stein covers - Links 2 3 4 and Keine Lust. After a couple of months break a further 2 songs were written and debuted at our next gig in June, with Dawn of a Million Souls - Ayreon and Ich Will and Spieluhr - 'Stein completing the setlist that time. In Autumn, the band endeavoured to set about recording an EP, and the dates were provisionally booked for mid-September. However, a set back was encountered when both Adam's announced that they would be leaving the band. Our vocalist to go off to Uni and drummer to concentrate on his main project, Adremelech. For the rest of that year progress was slow, with few practices, although material was still being developed whilst we actively searched for new members.

At the start of 2007, Adam 'Monkey' was recruited on drums after leaving his previous band Millispede and so the band began practicing frequently again. Finding a vocalist however was proving much tougher with us having to turn down a couple of gigs during this period. However, In February we got into contact with Jamie  through Ascendant and after a very sucessful audition he was given the part.

towards the end of 2007 we decide it was time to finally record our long awaited first offical ep. this faced its own problems and lead to the sudden loss of our drummer monkey. adam( adremelech) kindly offered his talents once again, and begining of 2008 our ep was finished  " ELUYSIVE REALITY "  get in touch if you want a copy.
