About
Vitals is a post-rock band hailing from Burlington, Vermont. Drawing inspiration from the unforgiving climate, they have crafted a sound that is oddly familiar while remaining unique. Once enough material was added to their r'epertoire, they hit the studio (Wasted City) to record two EPs, "The Legend that Was Earth"; "s/t", with engineer Justin Gonyea (Romans).
With the EPs done, Vitals began work on exposing these tunes to the world by first playing in their hometown with such great acts as Sick Puppies (Virgin records), The Urgency (SRP), Constants (radar records), Junius (radar records), Carrigan (radar records), The Lymbyc Systym (Mush records), Rookie of the Year (111 records), Romans, and Trophy Scars (the death scene) on many occurences. The urge to tour out of state was overwhelming, and with the assistance of Joe Beaulieu (802booking collective), it became a reality.
After their first successful North-east tour with fellow Vermonters, Maui In Ithaca, Vitals have continued to fine-tune their sound to a science and are hard at work on a follow-up LP.
Vitals will be playing the Radar Records/Giant Steps Booking showcase at SXSW this year. The line-up is about as impressive as it can get with This Will Destroy You, Russian Circles, Genghis Tron, Junius, Coliseum, Maps and Atlases, Constants, Lymbyc Systym, Caspian, Seneca, Consider the Source and more.
