“I just bought this CD last night and it's already made its way into my regular rotation/playlist. It's a great album! From the first minute of the first track, it pulls you in, and holds you there throughout the whole album. There's certainly a diversity of sounds between the tracks (and even within the same song, sometimes), but the overall vibe is very seductive; smooth and melodic until it catches you off-guard with a hint at VRB's louder, heavier influences. I've had the privilege of seeing these guys live and every one of them has huge, great energy, so I was expecting the album to be much harsher. Compared with the live sound, this is more refined but not polished - still a little bit of that awesomely dirty, gritty rock sound. Virginia's voice is dark and evocative; sometimes the music compliments that vibe and sometimes it creates a really cool contrast. Over all, I definitely recommend this to anyone who likes some dark beauty with their rock.”
