I started singing when I was five. My mother taught me. Two years later I started writing songs. I was slow to learn instruments - age 12, piano, age 17, guitar. I love creating music in scads of genres. The things I write on my own are sort of folk-rock singer/songwriter idiosyncracy. I also write in collaboration and perform pop, rock, world fusion, new wave, r&b, hiphop, and punk, with bands and for film and television.
