Bio: Triad Art Space is a nonprofit venue operated by a foundation whose focus is to provide a variety of entertainment and education opportunities for the local and regional community. For Friday night Asylum Showcases, the venue provides a place for bands to try out new stuff, get their feet wet in a professional setting or just play for fun. Door money helps pay the bills to keep the venue open. Bands who play agree to essentially volunteer their time and services until such time as the building renovations are complete and/or the showcase proceeds exceed expenses for the evening. There are no alcoholic beverages served on site but a snack bar and drinks offer a number of items. Triad Art Space is committed to providing a first class performance space for musical artists. Bands are expected to help promote their shows at the Triad and create posters. If their fans bring a coupon or flier in for the show, the fans are "credited" to the band. The band may also offer 2 for 1 coupons on their fliers for admittance for the Asylum Showcase shows. Once the door reaches the minimum for basic operating costs for the evening, remaining money will be split between the bands according to the number of fans they brought (credits). 2 for 1 coupons count as one credit.
