600 Nevan Road, Virginia Beach, VA, US
Bio: Although the original beach location is gone, The Jewish Mother lives on in its brand new 9000 square foot location in the Hilltop area, just 2 miles inland from the original location. The Jewish Mother was established in 1974 in Virginia Beach, VA. At the time, the resort city did not have a New York deli-style restuarant that also doubled as a live music venue. The original owners saw this void and created The Jewish Mother. The name was easy to come by, and a tribute to one of the owner's own "Jewish Mother", who was very active in creating the unique menu The Jewish Mother is now nationally known for. Some of Mom's favorite suggestions for the menu were lox, bagels, quiche, omelettes, corned beef, brisket, and pastrami, to name a few. 37 years years later and voted "Best at the Beach" the last ten years in a row, The Jewish Mother has become a well known restaurant in the Hampton Roads area that also is one of the best live venues for great music. Make your Mother happy and come visit us for great food and live entertainment!
