Show Details: Bob Walkenhorst and Guests $5 family friendly When a great rock nroll band comes to an end, where does the music go? Bob Walkenhorst, lead singer and songwriter of The Rainmakers, answers that question on his first solo CD, The Beginner. In thirteen new (and very short) songs, Walkenhorst has pared his already elemental approach to song arrangements down to a skeletal acoustic guitar, bass, and drums, most often played by his one-man-band. Harmonica is the lead instrument of choice, with the notable exception of a honking sax solo by Johnny Reno on Jan Vermeer, a Chuck Berry-style rocker about the great Dutch painter. The only lead guitar solo on the CD is played by Kansas City guitarist Jack W. Hayhow, Jr., on another retro-rocker, J-Walkers, about the first band Walkenhorst ever heard. Vocal harmonies appear on only one song, Just Leaving. From the sparse instrumentation to the early-60s-style extreme-stereo production, the overall sound of The Beginner is as much about what has not been recorded as it is about what you do hear. Also, you can watch Bob's weekly show broadcast on the web at http://www.ustream.com/channel/bob-norm-jeff Website:www.bobwalkenhorst.com/

Show Details: Another Holiday 21+ $7 When they're not stuffing themselves with Little Caesers "Hot-N-Ready" pizzas, Lawrence's Another Holiday preoccupies themselves penning romantically intentioned pop songs for mellow melodics. The group fired up in the summer of 2005 and found their footing with the addition of singer and pianist Katlyn Conroy, who possesses a strong and unique voice that's nonetheless doomed to draw comparisons to Rilo Kiley, Metric, Eisley, Azure Ray et al. The group's songwriting favors balladry over overt rocking, with songs ebbing and flowing and occasionally soaring into Coldplay territory. That's not a bad thing in the hands of capable musicians, all of whom virtuously support Conroy's fast-developing songcraft. -from Lawrence.com Website:www.anotherholidaymusic.com/

Show Details: The Doo Dads all ages kids show $5 for parents free for kids The Doo-Dads play Rock & Roll for KIDS. The Doo-Dads live in The Doo-Dad Pad where they do dad things like watch TV, play music, cut the grass and fix stuff. The Doo-Dad Pad is a crazy and amazing place where each room is its own adventure. Like the Incredible Shrinking Room and the Dinosaur Party Room. There's even a bathroom. The Doo-Dads have a boss named Max Worth (Worth Enterprizes). She is six or seven - I think, or maybe she's eleven or something... She tells The Doo-Dads where to go and play concerts for The Kids. The Doo-Dads urgently need to get there to play for them wherever they are. The Kids can be anywhere in the universe. Luckily The Doo-Dad Mobile can transform into a plane, a boat, a rocketship or even a time machine depending on how far away the concert is. Unfortunately The FOE (Forces Of Evil) have joined together to keep The Doo-Dads away from The Kids. The FOE are always there to make the musical mission even more difficult as The Doo-Dads come face-to-face with some of the worst musical fun-sucking forces EVER. Will The Doo-Dads get to the Concert and play for The KIDS? What is going ON? WHAT WILL HAPPEN? Are The Doo-Dads DOOMED? I don't think so!!! The Doo-Dads always make it to the show somehow. Nothing can spoil this Rock and Roll Party........unless of course The FOE show up. Website:www.thedoodads.com/

Show Details: Josh James & The True Story 21+ $7 JOSH JAMES ALBUM REVIEW URBAN TULSA WEEKLY! JOSH JAMES ALBUM REVIEW INDEPENDENTCLAUSES INDIE MUSIC MAGAZINE Josh James's musical journey was sparked by an interest in music inspired by an eight track player in his aunts car which he listened to while she ran errands for the family business. She had such greats as The Beatles, Billy Joel, Elton John and Van Morrison. He was hooked. At age 8, his mother purchased Josh's first guitar and paid for lessons at Guitar House of Tulsa. Josh's first foray into the music business came in 2005 when he released his E.P. "Primitive Sketches", a four track recording of a live performance. Not happy with the sound of a just-solo performance James enlisted the help of John Conrad, a local Tulsa musician and producer. In early 2006 they recorded "Painted In A Corner", James's first full length L.P. It was met with modest success and praise from Urban Tulsa Weekly. In late 2007, Josh began recording, with the same producer, the follow up to "Painted In A Corner titled "Asbestos Honey"; it is a folk/rock/americana blend with plenty of catchy hooks and foot tapping melodies! "Asbestos Honey" is now available on CDbaby, Digstation,MSN Music and More to come! James added a backing band in April of 2009. The band consists of Adam Hewett (Lead Guitar), Cale Jorgenson (Bass Guitar) and Sean Wilson (Percussion). Website:www.myspace.com/joshjamesgtr
