Show Details: Open Mic on Main is the premier open mic event in North Harris County. Musicians come from miles away to take the Main Street Crossing stage in “Old Town" Tomball every Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM. Young and old, boys and girls, bring your talent and share your gifts. There's never a cover charge and you can record your music live. Great food and many beer and wine choices. Always entertaining, and never predictable, Open Mic on Main has become a weekly reality show. Show Details: L.L. Cooper is fronted by guitarist/singer-songwriter Larry Cooper, who has played with and produced numerous artists, including a three-year stint as lead guitarist and producer for perennial Houston fave and award winner Lisa Novak. Cooper has finally stepped up to the mic, delivering his songs with a deep Southeast Texas twang carrying equal parts sarcasm and sincerity. L.L. Cooper's debut release "Old Hardin Store Road" was released in May 2007, picking up excellent reviews in the Houston Chronicle, and in December made the Chronicle's list as one of the "Top Ten Discs of 2007". In addition, the record picked up great reviews in ENVY Magazine, and in the forever fussy Houston Press, where the band managed to garner 2007 award nominations as "Best New Act" and "Best Traditional Rock". After thriving at the toughest venues in the ultra-jaded Houston inner-loop scene, the band is now expanding their performance schedule to include Austin and other Texas markets.

Show Details: Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) has announced a new monthly showcase featuring performing songwriters beginning Monday, June 29th, at Main Street Crossing in Tomball, TX. The showcase, named NSAI Songwriters In-the-Round, will be hosted by Connie Mims, Regional Workshop Coordinator for the NSAI Houston North Metro Chapter. Mims was recently named the 2009 Singer/Songwriter of the Year by the Academy of Texas Music. The showcase will be the last Monday of each month, with a different lineup of singer/songwriters each month.
The showcase will consist of two shows, featuring a total of six performing songwriters, “in-the-round” style, a stage format made popular by the famous Bluebird Café in Nashville. The first show, from 7:30pm to 8:15pm, will feature three local songwriters, followed by the second show at 8:30pm featuring three regional and touring artists. Cover charge is $5.00. Main Street Crossing, located at 111 W. Main Street in historic Tomball, TX, has quickly become a popular venue with its dedication to being a listening room with ample sound, lighting and staging for the performers, as well as providing a comfortable ambiance for audiences, featuring a full dinner menu and wide selection of beverages and spirits.
In addition to hosting this new monthly show, Main Street Crossing presents several live music shows each week with local to regional touring artists.
