Bio: Come Play, Pitch, Party & Pathfind At The Independent Music Fest Nashville Three days of music experiences where memories of a lifetime is created in a weekend on Music Row in Nashville, Tennessee, September 30 - October 2, 2011. Choose to perform as an Artist seeking new material or singer songwriter looking for cuts. Let your hair down and support a good cause at the Indie Music Masquerade Songwriters Ball where there will be dancing, food and fun! Learn about the business of music and get on the program that gives you the support we all need to move forward, step by step. Indie Music people from all points North, South East and West will converge on Music Row in Nashville, Tennessee, September 30 - October 2, 2011 for the Independent Music Fest Nashville. There will be multiple indoor stages with live music performances separated into two categories: Stages exclusively for singer songwriters who play their original songs looking for others to cut their material and stages for Performing Artist Only who are part of an Act or Show. Songwriters with original compositions will be assigned to play their songs at Original Songs Only stage areas. Those classified as Performing Artist can do cover tunes and will be assigned to a designated Cover Tunes Only stage areas. The goal of the live music portion of the event is to pair Performing Artist who need great songs with original songwriters who have the types of material the Artist are seeking for their Act. By mixing the two together we hope to get writers products in the hands of others who are working shows, so we are having a Pitch Fest. There will be the usual suspects in the crowd since this is Music Row and it is Music City, USA so do not be shy. Mid way thru the Fest on Saturday evening, the festival host an Indie Music Masquerade Ball & Songwriters Gala. From 7PM - till? The Dance Band comes out, mask and costumes are donned, food is served in a continuous buffet and the party is on. We all need a break from business as usual so people can come as they are not and hide behind a mask or costume. There will be a silent auction, raffles, prizes and give-a-ways for the festival fundraiser. Education has also been an important part of our activities over the past ten years and after two years of preparation we are proud to launch the Independent Music Association. The Tennessee Not For Profit is a working organization that helps independent music people get things done. Utilizing Action Plans especially designed for each member combined with a Step Level approach to the biz, we offer an opportunity for members to pursue their goals. With our custom designed Pathfinder Task Manager soft wear, we can analyze results, measure progress and identify what is and is not working. The Independent Music Association will be providing three days of working exhibits for attendees to learn how to stay focused. From the Music Factory, where we match music peoples goals with reasonable expectations after an in depth Career Critique then off to an existing products Critique and other Step Levels like Recording, Publishing, Plugging, Legal, Records, Duplication, Distribution, Radio, Video & Broadcasting, Shop, Management, Promotions & Productions and so on, literally covering all phases of the industry. Come visit the working exhibits and displays of the IMA. The serious Indie needs tools and a support structure. We provide this and offer a long term approach to the business of music.
