Show Details: Elizabeth Lorrey crafts a dark blend of edgy, intense acoustic rock.Slow-cooked, finely seasoned, with a hint of Suzanne Vega simmering in The Cure. "Awakening" is Elizabeth's first recording as a solo artist after 15 years of experience in regional indie rock bands (Crave, Wax Fruit Museum). She wrote, performed, engineered and produced nearly everything on the disc (except for drums, handled by the incredibly talented Greg Tourian, and a smokin' guitar solo by Dave Fitzgibbons of The Rafters). Greg & Dave will join Elizabeth for a special, full-band performance at the CD Release party to rock the tunes from "Awakening" and the back catalog!

The Rafters are an acoustic-pop-married duo (Dave and Miki), who will be releasing their second CD "With the Sun". Recorded and mixed in their basement in-between the sounds of the furnace and the noise of life. Just days after the first tracks were recorded they would learn there would be another "little Rafter" on the way. Through a long and reflective pregnancy, 60 hour work weeks, the ice storm of '08, and trying to keep up with their two daughters, the final parts were completed the day before their son, Carter David, was born.

Show Details: After growing up in the verdant hills of upstate New York, Hal moved to Austin, Texas in '81 to discover he was living close to a dance hall called Gruene Hall. He fell in with a bunch of other singer-songwriters, such as Lyle Lovett, Joe Ely and Jimmie Dale Gilmore. When nothing much happened for him there he moved to Nashville where he signed a recording deal with Curb Records and made a brief appearance in the film "Heartbreak Hotel". His first CD with Curb "Past the Point of Rescue", was released in '91, and was produced by Allan Reynolds & Jim Rooney. The 1st single from the album, 'Small Town, Saturday Night' peaked at No. 2 in the Billboard charts. The next single 'I Know Where Love Lives' reached No 13, and then, 'Past The Point of Rescue' reached No 2 in early '92. The 4th single, 'Five O'Clock World' reached no 16, and Curb also released a compilation of Hal's first 4 videos entitled 'Past the Point of Rescue'. 'Sure Love' was the next album to be released and the title track got to No 3, followed by 'Hearts Are Gonna Roll', which reached No 2. Then 'Mama knows the Highway' which reached No. 8. 'Someplace Far Away' reached no 21 on the Billboard charts. Hal achieved one of his career highlights in '94, when he was inducted as the 71st Member of the Grand Ole Opry. Hal says "I didn't realise how powerful it is. The first time I played there I felt a real power, the power of heritage, of tradition, of the written word." After a severe bout with Acute Transverse Myelitis (ATM), Hal lost the use of the left side of his body for a while and had to re-learn how to play the guitar. Which he did to everyone's delight. And he has been writing songs and thrilling audiences ever since. His newest CD, 'Father Time', is one of the most musically inviting and satisfying recordings in recent memory. It's his 9th album in a very distinguished musical career.

Show Details: It's not accurate to say that Bill Kirchen plays American roots music. Bill Kirchen IS American roots music, celebrating an American musical tradition where country music draws upon its origins in blues and bluegrass, and in the Western swing of Texas and California honky tonks. He first gained renown as lead guitarist and vocalist for Commander Cody & his Lost Planet Airmen, where the resonant twang of his battered Telecaster drove "Hot Rod Lincoln" into the Top Ten in '72. He's played guitar on recordings and performances with Nick Lowe, Doug Sahm, Elvis Costello, Emmylou Harris, Ralph Stanley, Gene Vincent, Link Wray, Danny Gatton and Hoyt Axton. A Kirchen performance recalls a half century of guitar legends and extends their brilliance into the new millenium. He received a Grammy nomination for in 2001. In 2002 he was inducted into the Washington Area Music Association Hall of Fame along with Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters, Nirvana) and John Phillip Sousa as well as winning 10 additional Wammies including Artist of the Year and Musician of the Year. In previous years, he won 2000 Rock/ Roots Rock Instrumentalist of the Year, Roots Rock Album (Raise A Ruckus) and 1999 Instrumentalist of the Year at the WAMA Awards, as well as being a multiple winner in 1997 and 1998, receiving ten awards, including Songwriter of the Year.

Show Details: From his early days at Club 47, the Cambridge coffeehouse that also gave Joan Baez, Bob Dylan and Judy Collins their start back in the 1960's, through 14 albums, to his sold out Club 47® concert series which has filled the likes of Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center, Tom's knack for finding wonderful songs, writing his own and championing emerging artists has made him a legend. Tom's music includes healthy doses of both folk and blues influences. He also was the first major artist to record the songs of a then-unknown Joni Mitchell, and also recorded a number of songs from such emerging singer/songwriters of the time as Jackson Browne, Eric von Schmidt, James Taylor and Eric Kaz. Rush's own compositions are still lauded for their poignant, undeniable lyrics. When U2 performed on this year's Grammys, Bono was heard singing a bit of Tom Rush's "No Regrets.". This version appears in their live sets, and also the live version of the song currently available on iTunes. Bono talked about it in a Rolling Stone Interview.
The new DVD release "Festival Express", chronicling an infamous 1970 cross-Canada concert tour by train, contains a full-length video of Tom singing "Child's Song."
"... his voice is outstandingly versatile; his guitar playing is sheer genius; his sense of humor side splitting ..." Trina E. Kingsbury, MARTHA'S VINEYARD TIMES
"Probably the only man alive who should be allowed to sing Joni Mitchell songs" Eric Fidler, CHICAGO TRIBUNE.
