From its 1985 inception as a once-weekly showcase for downtown Tucson's creative community, to its current status as "one of the ten best rock clubs in the United States," Club Congress has continuously striven to be a catalyst for art. In addition to our emphasis on showcasing music's cutting edge, The CC has earned repeated accolades as the city's best dance club. All this takes place within a lush socio-historic context. The Tap Room, attached to Club Congress, has been a favorite watering hole since the 19th Amendment was passed. The Dillinger gang, imbibed a few drafts here before they were flushed out by the 1934 Hotel Congress fire and subsequently captured. Today, don't be surprised if you find your favorite musician or Hollywood star "slumming it" in this must stop for the incorrigibly hip.
