Vanessa Verlee's writing is honest and raw, like her voice. She's been compared to Patty Griffin, Janis Joplin, and John Prine.
She has been writing and performing since 1997, so far recording three full length albums. In addition to running open mics and playing gigs in San Francisco, where she's lived since 1999, she has toured all over the U.S. and shared bills with great musicians including Mike Roe of the 77's and Jolie Holland.

When Vanessa is not on the road, she spends her days in San Francisco, teaching yoga and doing massages. She plays in the Bay Area several times a year, often sharing gigs with her husband, Jeremy Rourke, under the name "Francis and Larise"
