With two separate sold out New York City shows in one week alone, “Vamoose” made good on their name. The crossover hip-hop group, consisting of two MCs, backed by a DJ and live musicians have gained a following far beyond their NYU roots.
Though the band's new CD “Spring” has not yet been released, the packed crowd at both Sin Sin and Fat Baby was rapping right along with Old Boy and Everiman on cuts like “JUST” and “BLACKBERRY WINTER”. Solid beats interlaced with luscious vocals and spoken words, intelligent, belligerent and bent on ringing out some fresh truth from their music make it clear that these guys are more than your “bling, bling, booty call” rehash.
As the shows came to an end, well past last call, a forest of two fingered V's rose up in unison when the two swaggering MCs called for the crowd to “put your Vs up cause Vamoose is here,” a good sign that Vamoose is not only here, but here to stay.
