Two Steps & the Law has been delighting audiences throughout Southwestern Ontario with a refreshing sound that spans acoustic rock, country hits, and a melting pot of musical styles. A diverse, mature group, we choose our cover songs with an eye beyond radio-worn repeats. Our original music is lyrical, complex and memorable.

Two Steps & the Law can take you on a haunting late-night acoustic ride, or through up-tempo dance sets that leave partygoers sweating and satisfied. Our high-tech setup gives you the rich sound of a ten-piece band. Our influences: Keith Urban, Melissa Etheridge, Alison Krauss, Collective Soul, Blue Rodeo, Sugarland, and more.

Band leader Garnet came out of the womb strumming. An experienced, in-demand electric and acoustic guitarist, he can just look at a string and make beautiful sounds come out. His songwriting casts daily joys and demons into fluid, evocative melody.

Lead singer/songwriter Lauren is a classically trained performer who blossomed in the east coast coffeehouse scene during her teens, then bloomed into a haunting, husky vocalist with a vibrant stage presence. Her lyrics mix love, loss, and powerful statements on modern society.

Stacey, astonishingly swift on bass and percussion, Diane, on backup vocals and keyboards, and our newest member George, on drums...round out the core of the band. "If your toes aren't tapping, then we're not having FUN."

Our venues include concerts, fairs, dances, corporate functions, summer festivals, conventions, picnics, parties and weddings.
