About
Twist of Fate is Butch Novack, Jim Masker and newest addition Bob Flynn. This musical journey started when Butch and Jim met after joining the band Leaves of Three back in 2006. "Leaves" had very little local success and never really took off the way they wanted it too. During one week in April of ‘07 they took it upon themselves to start practicing as a duo and after a few days it was decided to go forward without the rest of Leaves of Three. Twist of Fate was born as an acoustic duo and with only a week to prepare for there debut show at That's Amore the guys were able to prepare an entirely new set to replace the songs they had been performing with the old band. The show was a success and throughout the course of the spring and summer they played all over NEPA including private parties and 3 special appearances at PNC Stadium performing the National Anthem for the SWB Yankees.
During that week in April when Jim and Butch decided to form the duo they also set out on a mission to be the most unique. When people think of acoustic acts they envision coffee shops and laid back bar settings but Twist of Fate went in a different direction by playing songs not traditionally played acoustically and over time changed those laid back atmospheres into dance floors filled with people who didn't seem to notice the lack of other instruments on the stage. That being said it appeared that the mission was accomplished and it was time to move on to bigger and better things. In the fall of ‘07 Twist of Fate held several auditions for drummers to fill out the rest of the band and lay the acoustic guitars to rest. After a grueling search Bob "Flynnie" Flynn was chosen to fill the rhythm void and after a short time of getting familiar with the bands style has blended in perfectly.
So now with the acoustic guitars safely packed away the band is moving forward and becoming one of the areas premiere original - cover - party bands regularly filling the local bars and pubs and setting there sights on the local and regional club scene, constantly working in the studio recording there debut album and amassing an ever growing following. So if you haven't been out to see Twist of Fate yet check the schedule and plan a night out.
