“NORWICH-based electro indie rock group Twisted Piglet have hit the big time in 2012 - and are joining Guns and Roses, New Order and Duran Duran onstage in Serbia this week. The band, who won the BurySound music competition in 2010, have recently supported the Hoosiers and Scouting for Girls at the Embassy Theatre in Skegness and have also played alongside ‘From the Jam’ featuring The Jam’s Bruce Foxton at the Waterfront in Norwich.”

They have toured through whole Britain, holding solo concerts, but also performing with bands such as The Hoosiers, Lulu, and will soon embark on a tour with Scouting For Girls. The First EP, Corridors, was released in December 2010, and the debut album, The Way To Jump soon followed. This particular album made the band a point of great interest even outside the borders of Britain.”

“A thrilled young band have been picked to support one of the UK's most famous singers. Twisted Piglet, whose four members live around Diss, will warm up for Lulu at two summer gigs. The group are to appear with the chart-topping star at Abbeyfest in Bury St Edmunds on 22 July and at Skegness' Embassy Theatre two days later. "We can't believe we'll be playing with a singer with such high international status," said frontman Brodie Payne. "We can't put into words what it means. We were stunned when we heard we'd got the gigs." The band are especially excited by being chosen for Lulu's bill as she was a similar age to them when she scored her first number one hit with Shout at just 15. “An up-and-coming teen band is preparing for their biggest gig after being picked to support one the nation’s most enduringly popular singers. Twisted Piglet, formed by four friends three years ago, has been signed as a warm-up act for Lulu at two summer concerts. The four-piece band, who live on the Norfolk-Suffolk border, will support Lulu at Abbeyfest in Bury St Edmunds on July 22 and the Skegness Embassy Theatre two days later. The electric rock band, who played at the Diss Carnival fun day a few weeks ago, is made up of 16-year-old Brodie Payne and his brother Stacey, 17, from Winfarthing, near Diss, Pete Blaxill, 16, from Eye, and Elliot Ball, 16, from Fressingfield. “It is our dream to get a record deal, but we are not holding our heads too high just in case nothing happens,” said Stacey. “It has all happened relatively quickly. For a couple of years we were doing gigs at Amplitude and suddenly we have had a burst of gigs and we have been going on them there.””

Bearsuit, Cakes and Ale, C.O.L.L., Twisted Piglet and We Can't Dance will flick on their amps for the new music live showcase on Saturday, 9 July. Twisted Piglet played in the first heat on October 8 and rounded off the final as the last band to compete for the coveted title of BurySOUND winners. Oozing with confidence and enthusiasm, their charisma won over the audience and the judges alike, as they performed upbeat and energetic original songs and a cover of Blink 182’s All the Small Things. Stacey Payne, whose keyboards failed to work for the band’s all-important set, couldn’t believe they had won. “We weren’t expecting it at all, I’m speechless,” he said. The band, who formed in 2008, beat four other finalists also performing on the night.”

“The winners of BurySOUND 2010 were Twisted Piglet After about 20 minutes of sound men and band members running around the stage with a keyboard frantically, it was announced that due to technical problems, Twisted Piglet may not be able to perform tonight as the keyboard was not working. The decision was made for the band to go ahead with their set, with a few song changes and the keyboard player being an on-stage entertainer. There was talk amongst the organisers of them playing for valor but this was not the case. They delivered the liveliest performance of the night to a well established fan base who understood how much this competition meant to them. Finishing on a cover of All the small things, they certainly didn't let their lack of keyboard put a dampener on the night. “Twisted Piglet is a four-piece band from Eye, Suffolk and have been together for two years now. The band consists of two brothers and two of their friends, Brodie Payne is the songwriter, lead singer and lead guitar, Stacey Payne (his brother) is joint composer with Brodie and also plays Keyboard and effects, Pete Blaxill is the drummer and Elliot Ball is bass Guitarist. Over the last year the band has been working really hard on getting their new songs written and composed and the band are really pleased with the results.
