“Rockland — There will soon be a loud twanging sound coming from Player’s sports bar on VFW Drive in Rockland. The venue recently announced the creation of a new live music program called, “Player’s Roots-Rockland Concert Series,” which will present American classic genres like blues, southern rock, country and alternative country. The special shows will happen every month or so, the first being “Blues-a-Palooza,” an open-mic blues bash on Saturday night April 10. Headliner artists include Tokyo Tramps, Chris Stovall Brown, and Duke Blues Machine, along with special guests, including Rockland’s own master bluesman, Satch “Blues” Romano. Plus the show will feature an open mic session for any blues jammers who wish to “bring their ax”. Music starts at 7:30 p.m. and goes until closing. Admission is free. ”
