Press Release (For Immediate Release) October 6, 2013, Malibu, CA: The 2013 Malibu Music Festival from October 11th-18th and Awards Show on October 19th at Pepperdine’s Smother’s Theater will be the sixth annual showcase of major and local music talent of adults, teens and children from the local community and the world’s stage. Each year, between five hundred and one thousand musicians submit their music in every genre and category for consideration. Some of the artists who expect to receive an award this year include Benny Hester, with the Lifetime Achievement Award in Contemporary Christian Music and Cherie Curie with the prestigious Rock Legend Award. “The event was created to take great care to award and honor everyone deserving recognition and to provide a platform for the many established and growing genres,” aid Terence Davis, founder and organizer of the event. “This is a growing event with many artists launching substantial careers following exposure and recognition at the festival. There will be three venues for the public to enjoy concerts with multiple performers. As acts are finalized, the schedule may change so it is advisable to check the website, www.malibumusicawards.com for up-to-date information. Gladstone’s at 7300 E Pacific Coast Hwy, Los Angeles, CA 90272 will provide East Malibu with performances from a variety of acts. Duke’s at 21150 E Pacific Coast Hwy, Malibu, CA 90265 will provide Mid-Malibu with additional acts. The Sunset Restaurant at 6800 Westward Beach Road will also provide West Malibu with music in multiple genres. Musicians are also invited to attend the first annual Malibu Music Expo from 11am to 3pm at the Malibu Playhouse, a 99 seat theater located at 29243 Pacific Coast Highway on Saturday, October 19th. Industry professionals who work with musicians are admitted for free, whereas tickets at the door for musicians will be $10 for ReverbNation members, $20 for non-members, and free to ReverbNation applicants to the 2013 Malibu Music Awards. Music industry professionals are encouraged to provide materials and advice concerning their services, and a disk drop will be provided for musicians to share their talent with interested agents and managers.
