Q: Beisde the open tuning and capo, How do you get the sitar sound out of your guitars? it's amazing!

A: Thanks for the question Michael. It's a twofold answer. 1) On acoustic guitar, it's all about the attack and Indian sounding musical idioms - hammer ons and pull offs. Couple that with a long reverb trail like the one you can get from a decent reverb pedal with modulation (mine is a Digitech Hardwire) and it's really not as difficult as it may appear. 2) When I can travel with a second guitar, I take my electric sitar (essentially an old Danelectro with a sitar buzz bridge, readily available). It's not an acoustic sound, but comes closer to the actual sound of a sitar because of the drone characteristics of the buzz bridge. I have a tutorial on acoustic without effects that I can post if you like. Lemme know - TPR
