The Toler/Townsend Band was first conceived in the mid 1990s when two music legends, Johnny Townsend and Dangerous Dan Toler decided they wanted to join forces in the creative realm. Danny has played with the Allman Brothers Band, Gregg Allman's solo band and Dickey Betts Great Southern. Johnny was a principal in the Sanford/Townsend Band who co-wrote and sang the mid 70s mega hit "Smoke From A Distant Fire".
